Asian Development Bank   (May 2012 – July 2014)
Indonesia National Environmental Education Action Plan Project Team Leader – Provided leadership and overall management of an Indonesian team of EE specialists (16 persons) to assess the institution and human capacity status in support of Environmental Education in schools nationally, and formulation Indonesia’s National Action Plan for Environmental Education (NAPEE),  four Provincial EE Development Roadmaps (East Java, Central Kalimantan, Jambi, Papua) and develop an EE Handbook for teachers and educators to be distributed national wide by the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Center for Curriculum and Textbooks (PUSKURBUK).

UNESCO Bangkok   (June 2009 – July 2012)

Trainer / ESD Specialist - SA was one of UNESCO Bangkok’s Mobile Training Team resource organisations for their regional and national workshops on Reorienting Teacher Education for EFA and ESD. SA was responsible for the design, development and facilitation of ESD Introduction sessions, along with workshops on Integration of Environmental Protection and Climate Change into Teacher Education Curriculum.

UNESCO International Bureau of Education (IBE), Geneva, Switzerland   (Oct. – Dec. 2009)
Environmental Education Training Curriculum Technical Consultant – The SA team was responsible for the design and development of a teacher training module for IBE’s World-wide Resource Pack entitled:  “Integrating Environmental Protection into Curriculum” to be included into the Training Tools for Curriculum Development (TTCD) that is used globally to train in-service teachers on the environment.

Ministry of Education, Department of Environmental Quality Promotion - Government of Thailand   (February – April 2008)
Technical Consultant / Training Team LeaderResponsible for the development of DEQP’s Eco-school Framework & Guidelines for assisting schools with incorporating principles and practice of Environmental Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and lead training team for series of country-wide Eco-school training and development workshops to assist 41 pilot schools to begin integrating the Ministry’s Eco-school guidelines and framework as a ‘whole school approach and to better align school development with community sustainability

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) – Thailand   (July – August 2007)
Technical Consultant/ Lead Writer -  SA provided technical assistance for development of a student Handbook for WWF’s partnership project with Norwegian Paper Company Norske Skog to promote reading, discovery learning, and positive environmental  behaviour in secondary school aged children in the Greater Mekong sub-region.

ASEAN Secrétariat Environment Desk, Jakarta, Indonesia   (December – July 2005)
Technical Consultant  on the ASEAN Environmental Education Action Plan 2008 – 2012 – SA conducted a region-wide review of the implementation of the ASEAN Environmental Education Action Plan 2000-2005 by the ten ASEAN member countries and development of its successor plan – AEEAP 2008-2012. This included the identification and assessment of the EE requirements of AMCs, in particular their capacity needs, the development of specific strategic activities at the national level and complementary regional level activities, and identification of implementation modalities (this includes identifying potential partners and funding sources), and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for the successor plan.

Fauna and Flora International (Vietnam) – Biodiversity Conservation Support Project           (April – June 2002)
Technical ConsultantRobert was one of three lead consultants on the Project Development Team for FFI in developing a “Public Awareness and Communication Programme” on Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Conservation in Halong Bay World Heritage site and Cat Ba Island, Vietnam.
